I really went for it in the pool the other day and everything was sore the next morning.  I felt like I must have run a marathon or something. I’m still not back to my full level, and I’ve been walking every day but I’m afraid of losing my progress.  What should I do to keep active while my body is still sore from overdoing it while swimming? Do I go back to swimming but do it gently?

Oh that’s rough! I’d say that you should ease your way into exercise and just pay attention to how your body feels. As long as you’re sore and stiff and not sore like you’ve actually hurt something, head out for your walks.  Maybe don’t swim quite so hard the next time. Sounds like you overdid it. Let your body guide you. If you feel like you can keep moving, do it.  If you’re making things worse or if you’re in a lot of discomfort as you move, don’t do it!

THanks. Ya, I’ve had to slow it down a bit and I’ll try building back up to that level. I guess I just can’t max out my workout that much.
