I haven’t run in so long I feel like i’ve never done it. What exercises should I do before I start running again. I’m planning to use the last of the winter to start getting back into shape enough to run when the spring really gets started.
Walking would probably be best, boosting up until you feel you can start doing walking/running intervals. Similar movements so similar muscle use. Build it up.
I’d go with walking and jogging intervals, too. Do some yoga to keep your body flexible and balanced. That way, you’ll protect yourself from injury.
Getting the hang of it yet? Have you ever tried the C25K app? It’s meant for people getting started with running and gives help over time until you reach 5k.
I forgot about that app! I started using it a couple of years ago then changed gears on my workouts. I should download again and try this spring. Who knows, right?
