How do I get up the motivation to exercise in the morning when it’s so much colder in the morning now? All I want to do is stay in bed and then if I drag myself out, I just want to stay indoors. Where does the motivation come from?

My best technique…put your workout clothes within reach. On top of your blankets or on your bedside table, for instance. When you wake up, pull them under your covers to warm them up. Then you can just sit up and put on warmed clothing and get going.

I’m a person who basically thinks of it as peeling off the bandage quickly. So in the morning, take a few breaths, throw off the blankets and get up and dressed super fast. it’ll get your heart pumping and ready to exercise automatically. If you have a programmable thermostat, set it to a degree or two warmer in the morning shortly before you plan to get up so that it will be more appealing to get out of bed. Nobody wants to take the blankets off for a freezing home – even if you can work with it.

Thanks! I honestly wouldn’t have thought of that idea about warming up the clothes. I started just by doing it with socks and it made a difference!!! I don’t have a programable thermostat…but now I really want one haha

Me too! I’m glad warming up your clothes the way I do is helping you. i hope it keeps helping and these mornings get easier for you to get out of bed!
