Looking for shoes I’ll get a whole year out of until Winter starts. These will be for walking and everyday wear. Is there anything that will last 8 months or am I expecting too much?

I think it depends on how much walking you do and on what surface.  I think 8 months is about the absolute max you’d get out of even the best shoe if you’re wearing it all day every day. They would be pretty ruined by the end of that.  It also depends on how often they get wet and if you wear good socks with them.

In my opinion, saucony. Nike wears down very fast and reebok is even faster in my experience.  The ball of the foot and the heel grind right down. I have had problems with saucony mesh breaking above the big toe, but if you pre-emptively pop a tiny bit of gorilla tape in there, it does the job perfectly.  Wear good socks. Makes all the difference to making sure the shoes don’t wear down on the inside.
