5 Simple Exercises

Are you hoping to change your lifestyle for the better, and you want to make it a point to exercise every day? Good for you! But it’s important to be prepared because this can be a bit challenging. A lot of people who try to exercise every day end up failing before they’re able to settle into a routine that works. You might find that you’re successful at the beginning, particularly when your motivation is really high, but as that enthusiasm drops, your workout routine suffers too.

Despite all of the challenges and setbacks, though, if you want to workout daily, it is not impossible! Many people manage to do it, and you can too, especially if your main motivation is to feel good, rather than just look good. Check out our tips below to learn about a few ways to increase the odds of success.

5 Easy Ways to Exercise Every Day

1. Change the exercises you do

Workouts can get boring really fast if you are always doing the same thing. So, keep it interesting by incorporating new exercises on a regular basis. You don’t need to go to the gym to exercise, and you don’t need to invest in a lot of expensive equipment for your home gym either. Instead, you can do things like take a walk each morning (bring your dog or a friend for company), go swimming, go for a bike ride, lift some dumbbells, train to run a marathon, or sign up for local workout classes, from yoga to aerobics. By changing things up, based on factors like how you feel that day or what the weather is like, you can avoid the boredom that often makes people fall off course.

2. Exercise with a Friend

When you want to exercise on a regular basis, having a workout buddy can come in really handy, according to AARP. They can keep you motivated to show up, and you can do the same for them. Plus, when you get to exercise with someone else, you can have more fun because it transforms the experience into a social one, rather than an isolated one. As long as your friend is really motivated and excited to work out, they can help you keep going strong.

3. Prioritize Your Exercise

Another way to exercise every day is by making it a priority in your daily schedule. Many people struggle with staying on course because they prioritize other things on their to-do list. If you make your exercise routine a non-negotiable item on that list, you might be a lot more likely to do it by setting aside the time for it.

4. Be Smart About the Time You Exercise

Another way to ensure you exercise every day is by figuring out the best time of day to get your workout in. For some people, working out in the morning is the best time of day because it helps you wake up and get energized. Plus, when you exercise before your day starts, there will be a lower risk of other things getting in the way. However, if that doesn’t work for you, consider exercising right after work, as that works for a lot of people too. No matter what, work with your unique schedule to figure out the time of day during which you can exercise without being interrupted.

5. Track What You Do

Tracking your workout activity with the help of an online tracker or wearable device is another way to hold yourself accountable, and to see your progress, which can be incredibly motivating. Track every physical activity, whether it’s weightlifting, swimming, or anything in between, and see how much more motivated you feel!

  1. Switching up the activities is key for me to stay motivated. If you are exercising intensely you should give yourself at least one rest day per week. Be careful of overtraining.
